John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer Review

Hi guys. I am sorry for not blogging regularly because I got caught up with all the tests and exams at uni. But I have a week off atm and had a little bit of free time so I thought of blogging.

So today, I would like to talk about John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer, which is from John Frieda's new Forever Smooth range.

Talking about packaging, it is similar to John Frieda's Frizz Ease Serum. Like their serum, it comes with a pump which you can lock it and the bottle is made up of plastic so it is very travel friendly.

It claims to fight frizz and sets the foundation for long-lasting, smooth, uniform style. On the front, it also says that it makes the hair smoother with continued use.

After I washed my hair and towel dried it, I took a pump of this primer and distributed it throughout my hair concentrating on the ends. Then left it to air dry. I noticed that my hair felt a lot softer and tamed a bit of frizz as well ( which is a great result for me since my hair becomes super frizzy after I wash it). It didn't make my hair feel greasy like their serum did. I curled my hair the next day and i was kind of surprised that it did an ok job of holding the curls without any use of mousse or hair spray. I really don't know if it makes the hair smoother with continued use since I just got it about a week ago but I will let you know if it does.

So, overall I think it is a great hair product to tame frizz and to make hair smoother. It also holds the hair well. The only con about this product is that it doesn't have any protection against heat so have to use a heat protectant separately. Apart from that, it is one of the must-have hair products of 2015!

Dolly Wink Eyeshadow Palette 01 Brown Review

Hellooooo beauts. Today I would like to do a quick review of Dolly Wink Eyeshadow Palette in 01 Brown.

Personally, I don't like to wear eyeshadows because I feel like it doesn't look good on my eyes but I just love this one. Dolly Wink Eyeshadow is a neutral eyeshadow palette which gives eyes a very natural looking finish.

I got this when I was in Hong Kong and I think I bought it from Sasa. It was about $150 (HKD).

The packaging is absolutely BEAUTIFUL but it doesn't have a mirror. If there was a mirror then it would be very handy when you are out and about.

This palette consists of a beautiful golden shade, champagney highlighting shade, warm brown shade, a dark brown shade and a sponge applicator.

The pigmentation is good so I don't need much product to get the intensity that I want. But it doesn't last long. I would say it will last for about 3-4 hours at most before it starts to fade.

I like the versatility of this palette as you can use the champagne shade as a highlighter on your cheek bone, brow bone, cupids bow etc and the dark brown shade as an eyebrow filler (if you have black or dark hair).

With this palette I love doing the Aegyo Sal eye makeup where you create a false illusion of having fat pouches underneath your eyes which apparently makes one look more youthful. This eye makeup is very popular in Korea. So do try this look.

Here are the swatches:

Overall, this is a basic neutral eyeshadow palette with cute design and packaging but lacks the longevity.
Rate: 7/10 (I would give it a 6 but gave +1 for its versatility)

My Holy Grail Hair Products

Helloooo guys. Today I am going to share some of my absolute favourite hair products. So lets get through it really quick.

L'oreal Hair Expertise EverSleek Shampoo & Conditioner (Smoothing & Moisture)
I have tried lots of different Shampoos and Conditioners in the past but I have to admit that out of them all these are my favourites. They claim to have no sulphates and silicones in it which is amazing for my frizzy and unruly hair as sulphates can strip your hair of moisture, colour and essential oils. As a result you end up having dry and brittle hair. So with this shampoo and conditioner you won't have to worry about it. It cleans my hair properly and it has a very subtle scent which smells really good. Overall this is an amazing shampoo and conditioner so do give it a try.

No7 Hair Protecting Spritz
I didn't plan to buy this product but saw it on the shelves near the till while waiting in the queue so I had to buy it. I guess impulse buying trick worked on me but I am so happy that I bought it because it is an amazing product. Usually during summer my hair looks really dry and unhealthy but using this product has made my hair look so healthy and I have noticed less split ends as well. It is also great if you swim a lot as it protects your hair from salt and chlorine damage. And it has a lovely summery scent to it which stays for quite a while. So I give this product a BIG THUMBS UP!

Batiste Dry Shampoo for dark & deep brown hair
This product works amazingly well. Like I said before, I have frizzy hair so washing my hair everyday is very damaging and that is where this awesome stuff does its job. It absorbs extra oil and greasiness from my hair leaving my hair feeling clean and fresh. This product  has a nice, fresh smell to it which does stay for a long time. I have natural black hair that is why I bought the one with a hint of colour but there are other ones with different scents and colour. So this is a must have for summer.

Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Shapely Curls Mousse
In the past, I have tried quite a few mousse but they all made my hair very stiff and crispy which I hated so I thought all mousse were like that until I got this. This is an incredible mousse which holds curls very well but still lets my hair fall naturally without looking stiff. Nowadays I don't use hot styling tools because in the past constant straightening destroyed my hair. In order to get curls I put this mousse and the no7 spritz that I mentioned above on my hair then put my hair in a bun. After few hours when I undo my bun, I get beautiful, wavy curls. So do try this method if you don't want to use hot styling tools on your hair. So all in all, this is a fantastic mousse. Oh and did I forget to tell you how gorgeous this smells :)

Thanks for reading. Hope you find this helpful.

ღღ Protein Goodness for your Beautiful hair ღღღ

Today,  I would like to share my hair treatment recipe. The things you will need are as follows:

  • egg yolk
  • olive oil
  • spoon / spatula
  • small container
  • shower cap / plastic bags

Grab an egg and separate an egg yolk from egg whites and put it in the small container. I don't like using egg whites on my hair because when I used the whole egg for the treatment, it made my hair a bit dry. But you can experiment with a whole egg and see if it works for you. The thing is I don't like wasting egg whites so what I do is fry and eat it before going to shower so that way nothing is wasted :)

Then I grab a fair amount of olive oil (again you can experiment and see how much oil is good for your hair) and mix it with the egg yolk using a spoon. And tadaaa.. your protein treatment mask is ready!!

After that wet your hair with lukewarm water then apply the treatment mask on your hair below ear level concentrating on the ends. Finish off with wrapping your hair with a shower cap or any plastic bag. Leave it on for atleast 15 to 30 minutes. What I like to do at that time is wash my body because the warm vapour from the shower helps your hair to absorb more nutrients (a bit like a hair steamer at salons).

Later remove the shower cap / plastic bag and wash your hair with lukewarm water and make sure it is not hot otherwise the egg will be cooked and it will smell funny. Then shampoo your hair properly and condition as usual.

This treatment has saved my hair and turned it from frizz ball to frizzfree :) Use this mask at least once a week and you will definitely notice some changes in your hair. Moreover this mask is so easy to make and these ingredients should be lying around your house and you never knew how good it is for your hair until now. So guys have fun experimenting and good luck!

Simple Protecting Moisture Cream Review!!

Hello Beautifuls :)
Today I am going to share a review on the Simple Protecting Moisture Cream.
What this product claims to do is 'to restore and defend your skin against the environment and keep it replenished all day long'. It has vital vitamins like PRO-VITAMIN B5 which actively restores, softens and smoothes and VITAMIN E which moisturises to improve skin condition. It also contains skin loving nutrients like glycerin which hydrates and nourishes for 12 hours and BISABOLOL which soothes and calms the skin. Not only that, it also provides sun protection as it has SPF 10.

The main thing that I like about Simple products is that it has 'NO PERFUME, NO COLOUR' which is really good for my skin as it is somewhat sensitive. And I agree with its claim that it nourishes and hydrates skin for 12 hours because I only use it in the morning and at night after I cleanse my face but my skin feels soft and nourished all day and night. I have been using this product religiously since like .. forever and I still love it.

The only con about this product is that it only has SPF10. I would like a little high spf, atleast SPF 20.

Its price is £4.99 at boots and most of the time it is on offer which is another plus point. Not only it is great value for money but it is a brand that I have trusted for years. So I would definitely recommend this product for people who have quite sensitive skin and who doesn't want to spend a fortune on a moisturising cream.

You can find more information about this product on the SIMPLE website.
